Five weeks from today, the editor and promoter extraodinare of my book, Mike Ebbing, and I will begin a weeklong book signing tour in Southern California. Starting in Palm Springs, we will conduct our completely impromptu, “Larry King-Style” interviews for audiences at various venues, from Walt Disney’s former desert home (known as Smoke Tree Ranch) to the Reagan and Nixon Presidential Libraries in Simi Valley and Yorba Linda.
We are particularly excited about the opportunity to work with the audio-visual team at the Reagan Library on March 18th. Initially, we had hoped to give a live presentation to an audience in the museum’s auditorium. However, the Reagan Foundation’s Chief Marketing Officer, Melissa Giller, had another idea. A better idea.
Mike and I, along with the AV team, will record several hours of interviews and conversations at various on-site locations. Then the Reagan folks will edit the raw footage in their broadcast-quality studio, finally producing a perhaps hour-long video. Once completed, it will be uploaded to their YouTube channel, which has 1.8 million followers! And, we will have unlimited access to it for our own promotional use.
In May of 2023, the White House Communications Agency had a reunion at the Nixon and Reagan facilities. During their visit to Simi Valley, the Reagan staff suggested they do a few interviews with reunion attendees who worked during the Reagan presidency. The resulting production below will give you a sense of this amazing team’s capabilities and what we can expect once they complete our project.
