9-11: Remembering Tragedies & Near Tragedies

The first group to schedule an event at the brand-new Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library is the White House Communications Agency (WHCA) Alumni. Author Bill Brockett is the organizer, and he and Mike Ebbing are co-masters of ceremonies for this four-day event, September 10-13, 2026.

On the evening of the twenty-fifth anniversary of 9-11, Mike will host a panel of WHCA alumni who will share their memories of national tragedies and near-tragedies that occurred during their time at the White House. At the end of the first hour, there will be a 10-minute intermission.

During the second hour, Bill will be the keynote speaker in the library’s 300-seat auditorium. He will share the stage with Mike Ebbing, a former Camp David switchboard operator, who will interview Bill about his book, Follow The Yellow Line, and his incredible White House experiences during the Nixon and Ford presidencies. The final 10 to 15 minutes will be reserved for audience questions for Bill, followed by a book signing.
